Museo Risorgimentale di Solferino
Fitted out by the Società Solferino e San Martino and located on the borders of the Ossuary Park, the Museum not only houses numerous French and Austrian army memorabilia, weapons and relics from the battle fought on this spot in 1859, but also shows testimonies of Italian history from 1796 to 1870. Besides iconographical material and documents, the collection features multifarious weapons, drawings, prints and soldiers’ personal belongings: all this is carefully displayed in three rooms, in chronological order and comes with useful legends that offer visitors an effective didactic-cultural approach. The main hall is obviously remarkable as it is completely dedicated to the famous Battle which took place on this site on June 24th 1859.
