San Lorenzo Castle Picenardi Castle probably dates back to 1400’s. The only remains from that period are the foundations, in fact the present architectural structure is the result of a massive 1800 restoration carried out by architect Luigi Voghera, who had the manor radically transformed. S. Lorenzo Picenardi Castle is truly suggestive with its numerous turrets and crenellated towers, the splendid entrance through the main keep and the numerous single-lancets that make the structure lighter. The typical neo-gothic style of the stronghold is an original trait as well as a matter of dispute among art critics.
