The Parco del Ticino (Ticino Park) was established in 1974 to protect the environmental areas along the river. Across the Park you will find diverse wildlife: squirrels, badgers, foxes, and among the bird species the Western Marsh Harrier, the Common Kingfisher, the Heron and the Woodpecker. the Bereguardo Boat-bridge is not to be missed. It links the Po and the Lomellina valleys and was an important trading landmark already in the XIVth century. the Park area offers a series of splendid nature trails, suitable for all ages and excellent either for a walk of for a mountain bike ride through the luxuriant poplar groves and paddy-fields.
