The Via dei Monti Lariani (Lario Mountain Trail) is a beautiful trail linking Cernobbio to a series of small villages scattered across the mountains on the western shore of Lake Como, as far as Sorico, 125 km far from the departure. many of these hamlets are located in a stretch between 600 and 1200 mt a.s.l. and used to be Alpine pastures (the so-called Mùnt) used by the coastal people from lake Lario (the ancient name of lake Como). This is why this trail is known as the Lario Mountain Trail and aims at creating a link between all these remote places, some still inhabited, some completely deserted or consumed by time. This easy trail does not need any particular training and allows tourists to enjoy some of the most exclusive views over the lake. it is one of the most intriguing trails across the Lombard mountains.
