Cattedrale della Vergine Assunta, Lodi
This is the oldest and most important monument in Lodi. The building of this Roman church, one of the biggest in Lombardy, symbolically started on August 3rd 1158, on the very day of the town’s foundation, and was accomplished in 1284. Subsequent XVIIIth century restoration interventions altered its pristine looks, which was eventually recovered with another massive intervention in 1958-1965.
